What is OSINT?

OSINT, short for Open-Source Intelligence, is the process of collecting and analyzing information from publicly available sources to support decision making. This information can be gathered from a variety of sources, including social media, blogs, forums, news articles, and more. OSINT is widely used in the fields of intelligence, security, and investigations.

How these challenges work?

OSINT-focused Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions test a player's ability to gather and analyze information from publicly available sources to solve a set of challenges. These challenges may involve identifying and locating individuals, uncovering hidden information, and piecing together a story from disparate sources. The goal of these CTFs is to help participants improve their OSINT skills, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of secure information management and privacy in the digital age.
